Lockdown

Lockdown
Lockdown’s here, once more
Oh, weren’t it here before?
Mr Barge-in-through-the-door,
Grumbly grumbly, stay in all day,
Oh Mr Covid, for this, you’ll pay.
I’m losing count of lockdowns;
I can’t go to any of the playgrounds!
I think I might’ve got the germ,
But I can sit and be a bookworm.
All the same, germs I don’t want,
But I do want to go to a restaurant.
It’s a big shame that I really can’t
I bang my head hard “its Covid!”
Or if I snore too loud “its Covid!”
Oh, what on earth shall we do?
The world’s gone whoopity loop!
We’re relying on Skype and Zoom
While we’re stuck in a stuffy room.
Oh, when will the pandemic end?
I really want to see my best friends!
